Moscow paid $45,000 for Flynn’s 2015 talk at RT

Michael Isikoff is one of the reporters who broke the story yesterday that Michael Flynn was paid by Moscow for his talk at RT in December of 2015.  He also broke the story about Carter Page’s alleged meeting with two top Russian officials over the summer of 2016.  He has been doing some great work.  Many may not remember he is also the reporter that first broke the story about Monica Lewinski.  He is the Chief Investigative Correspondent for Yahoo News and one of our country’s best journalist.

Isikoff reports,

RT, the Russian state-owned television network described by U.S. intelligence officials as “the Kremlin’s principal international propaganda outlet,” paid $45,386 for former Defense Intelligence Agency Director Michael Flynn to fly to Moscow to speak at its 10th anniversary celebration in December 2015, according to documents newly obtained by a congressional committee and provided to Yahoo News.2da91361fdf829852f12cda0ec883201

At the Russian government’s expense, Flynn — who was fired last month as President Trump’s national security adviser — was accompanied by his son, Michael Flynn Jr., on the three-day, all-expenses-paid trip, where they both stayed at the five-star Hotel Metropol in Moscow next to Red Square, according to documents obtained from Flynn’s speakers’ bureau, Leading Authorities.

…, congressional Democrats charge that the funds Flynn collected from government-funded RT (formerly known as Russia Today) appear to violate Pentagon rules that subject retired military officers to the “emoluments clause” in the U.S. Constitution, prohibiting them from accepting any “consulting fees, gifts, travel expenses, honoraria or salary” from a foreign government.
