The investigative team Andrew Weisburd, Clint Watts, and JM Berger, published a comprehensive study of how the Russians are using social media and cyberwarfare to undermined democracies around the world.  It is one of the best studies I have read on the subject.  Watts is a Foreign Policy Research Institute fellow and senior fellow at the Center for Cyber and Homeland Security at George Washington University.  They researched 7,000 pro-Trump social media accounts over a two-and-half-year period.  They make a strong case that helping Trump get elected was just the beginning.  Their conclusions were confirmed by research from the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University and by the RAND Corporation.
